coa//012 is fashionably late

27 07 2013

It’s been a few weeks, but I’m vacationed, my health issues are GENERALLY back under control, and I’m ready to get back into the swing of things. Let’s get started.

coa//012 Begins

It’s a new story! Starring Grandma Scarlett! This is a direct response to the poll I ran at the close of vol//001, where many of you indicated a desire to see an entire story devoted to everybody’s favorite granny.

This’ll also afford me an opportunity to peel back the curtain on a few of the City’s grander mysteries. In fact, looking at my schedule, this is the ONLY chance I’ll get to make those reveals — things are going to be… a BIT hectic in vol//003, no real time for such revelations. For those of you wondering about the origin of the City, your time has come. Will come. In a week or three worth of writing, I mean.

vol//001 Cover Art

Behold, we have a book cover! The book itself will be launching in September. Kickstarter backers will get a copy according to their tier reward, other folks will be able to buy a copy from the website. It’s taken some time to get everything lined up and I appreciate your patience. (I’ll be revamping my process a bit for vol//002’s book.)

Very nice story.
Only one nitpick, I went back to verify the music promoter was the same guy from the end of Chapter 8, and found…
that all roads lead to Chapter 12.
I was able to satisfy my recollection, but you might want to fix your links.
I await next Sunday with eagerness.

How in the heck did THAT happen? Links fixed now, thanks!

Typo patrol: wonderous, nosnense, on the every

Nice intro. I like how you segue back and forth between wakefulness, dreams, Scarlett’s contemplations of the past and future whether awake or not.

And ooh, her own bear! That’s very sweet (as well as important, I assume.)

So sad… you forgot about your LJ bears…

And silly Jack! One always needs a bear. (Or, in my case, two crocheted poodles (Noodle the Poodle and Grey Puppy) who slept with me nearly every night of my life from the age of 4 to 23, and again from 30 to 39. Best bad dream preventers ever.)

I’m an advocate of stuffed animals. Heck, I had a stuffed Bert doll for YEARS, straight on through to college. Even after I “outgrew” it it was still exactly the right shape and consistency to prop me up while I slept (it can be hard to find comfort in bed with dwarfism) so I use a basic rectangular pillow of the same scale today.

Yeah, they’re getting cremated with me. It’s in my will and everything. No, I am not joking.
